Dorothy Helen Trinka, age 93, of Montgomery passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3 from 10 am-Noon with funeral service at Noon. All held at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be held at a later date.
Dorothy was born on April 9, 1931 in Rice County on the family farm in Erin Township to James and Rose (Trcka) Nerud. She attended country school near her family farm and then Montgomery schools. She was united in marriage to Woodrow “Woody” Trinka on September 30, 1950 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. She worked at Spors Company in Le Center, Hejney Café in Montgomery, Ruhlelas 5 & Dime, Munsingwear Employee store manager, and an independent Avon Consultant for 40+ years- always reaching the status of Honor Society every year.
Dorothy was a VFW 2nd District Auxiliary member for over 35 years, was a life member of 73 years as a VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Poppy Chairman, decorated member and family graves, CCW member, Degree of Honor, Arts and Heritage, Historical Society, Community Club, holding an office in many. Dorothy loved to travel, spending time with family and friends, she was often called the social butterfly and never said no when asked to help.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Renee Koch (Rick Lloyd) of Cleveland, Rick (Betty) Trinka of Osakis, and Randy Trinka (Jennifer Urena) of Savage; grandchildren, Jeff (Breanna) Lloyd, Lindsey (Ryan) Swing, Dan (Cylie) Lloyd, Nick (Kesha) Trinka, Mike (Abby) Trinka, Amanda (Nathan) Henning, Madison (Ethan) Deakins, Taylor (Lisa) Trinka, Kalli (Christian) Zavala; great-grandchildren, Ryland, Mayson, Ellie, Eyan, Elijah, Colter, Bennett, Garrett, Rylee, Lexi, Owen, Ethan, Alissa, Zoey, Lilly, Blake, Shayla, Cadance, Jameson, Wesley, and Danica; special friends, Connie White Tupy, Bob Ruhland, Stacy Brown, Colleen Pavik, Tammy Duque, and Rick (Sue) Black.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woody; brothers, Joe Nerud and Jim Nerud; sisters, Julia Linberger and Evelyn Chlan.
